What is Yoga?
Yoga is a way of working with the body, breath, mind and spirit to achieve very positive results.

Some think that yoga is all about tying yourself into complicated knots, but it does not have to be what way. In yoga there can be enormous gain without pain! The simplest postures practiced with the right kind of attitude can have the most effective results.

How can yoga benefit you?
Practiced regularly, yoga can improve health, strength and suppleness.  It is also rightly known for being incredibly relaxing because it can help to create stillness and clarity in the mind. Many people who have adopted yoga into their lives find that it comes as quite a relief, especially in today’s stressful environment.

Suzi GriffinOver the past twenty years, Suzi Griffin has been lucky enough to have studied Viniyoga with a number of inspirational teachers, giving her a great depth of knowledge and Bristol Dojo Yogaunderstanding.  Through Suzi’s extensive studies with Paul Harvey, who learnt in Indiawith TKV Desikichar, she has a direct link with Krishnamcharya, the father of yoga.

She has experimented with many styles of yoga but always returns to the tradition of Viniyoga.  With its emphasis on breathing, slow dynamic movement, it is different from many other forms of yoga. Viniyoga uses the techniques and ideas of yoga and applies them to the individual, respecting all aspects of their personal circumstances. These might include such factors as their age, health, physical abilities, occupation, lifestyle, culture, religion, and what they might be looking for from Yoga. By using this tradition, the yoga Suzi teaches is safe and suitable for anyone.

She has also studied and taught pregnancy and post-natal yoga and active-birth techniques. 

Suzi also teaches one-to-one sessions with students who wish to develop their yoga practice or who want to treat health problems through yoga.
